A Pearl River Community College student sends a message during a graduation ceremony in Hattiesburg Tuesday.
HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Approximately 525 students at Pearl River Community College received either associate's degrees or certificates of proficiency Tuesday during an annual graduation ceremony at the Forrest County Multi-Purpose Center.
Keynote speaker for the event was Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves, who advised the graduates to be good team players and make a positive difference in their communities by either starting a business, volunteering or becoming a mentor.
"We've got a lot of challenges out there (in Mississippi) and the best way for us to meet those is for us to come together and work together," said Reeves.
Since last summer, a total of more than 900 students have completed their graduation requirements, making this the largest graduating class ever at the school.
