Students allegedly caught with weapons at Greene County High

The Greene County Sheriff's Department was called to the high school Friday morning for what school officials called violations of the student code of conduct.

School Superintendent Richard Fleming released a statement saying they had received anonymous tips that three students were in possession of items that could potentially be used as weapons. After an investigation, the undisclosed items, possibly guns, were seized and the unidentified students were taken into custody by the sheriff's department.

Fleming stated that precautionary measures were taken at the school to protect all students. He said that at no time were students, faculty, or staff threatened or endangered.

Sheriff Stanley McCloud was not available for comment.
