Jones County courthouse in Ellisville needs repairs say residents

ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) -

Several Ellisville residents are demanding answers for the board of supervisors about the condition of the Jones County Courthouse in Ellisville.

From afar, the courthouse in Ellisville appears to be in good shape, but up close the beauty dwindles.

Almost seven years after Hurricane Katrina, damages to the building are still visible, paint is chipping in and outside the building, and the foundation itself is cracking.

Board President Andy Dial said the county doesn't have the money to make the necessary renovations, nor could he reveal how the insurance compensation meant for repairs after Hurricane Katrina was spent.
