Report: Southern Miss football player arrested in Alabama
The Mobile Press-Register is reporting that Southern Miss running back Jamal Woodyard was arrested Friday and charged with second-degree robbery.
The report says Woodyard was one of three men who robbed an individual Friday at 7:30 p.m. Police told the Press-Register that the victim was assaulted and overpowered before having his cash and cell phone stolen. The report says that no weapons were involved and no injuries were reported.
Woodyard, a redshirt sophomore, led Southern Miss with 732 rushing yards in 2011. He also had 159 receiving yards and five total touchdowns.
