Camp Shelby soldiers receive new tool in job hunt

CAMP SHELBY, MS (WDAM) -

Soldiers at Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center now have an extra resource in helping finding employment after returning from service.

The new Hero 2 Hired kiosk provides redeploying soldiers with a number of tools. The kiosk is web based, and is able to translate military occupational skills, provide career path exploration, upload resumes, allowed customized job searches, enable employers to search for veterans, and provide performance metrics.

The Hero 2 Hired website hosts more that 3 million real-time job listings and allows soldiers to narrow their search by zip code or city.

This service couldn't come quicker, as unemployment rates collected over the last two years for returning soldiers, varies between 15% and 34%.
