USM works with elected officials to spur development
HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -
Mississippi officials converged on the USM campus Tuesday in an effort to spur economic development.
The University of Southern Mississippi offered an introductory course for elected officials, emphasizing their role in community and economic development. The course focused on job creation across the state and also discussed the topic of regionalism, the act of sharing resources and working together to increase economic development.
This course is the first of its kind to be offered in southern Mississippi.
