JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

A Wednesday morning fire damaged a home in Southwest Jones County, the same home where a 2011 murder took place.

The fire occurred at around 11 a.m. at a home in the 1200 block of Highway 590 south of Ellisville. South Jones firefighters were first on the scene and found flames coming from two windows in the rear of the home.

Officials say a propane leak in the home could have contributed to the fire. Once the gas was turned off, they were able to put the flames out.

No one is currently living in the home. In June of 2011, 65-year-old Henry Charles Adcock was found murdered in the home by his daughter. The murder appeared to be linked to a pawn shop robbery in Wayne County where Adcock was employed.

Jones County Sheriff's Department Fire Investigator Scott Gable was called in to investigate the cause.
