The Intensive Outpatient Program is more intensive than traditional outpatient and is designed to achieve short-term stabilization and resolution of immediate problem areas. The IOP is specifically designed for adult and geriatric patients who are experiencing behavioral or emotional difficulties, but no longer require the intense level of psychiatric care provided by inpatient or partial hospitalization programs.
Our program helps patients understand the relationship between their thoughts and behaviors. We all hope that our "the golden years" will be good ones; but experiencing the loss of loved ones and the stresses involved with changing physical challenges may lead to normal feelings of sadness or distress. Persistent personality changes or unusual behavior, however, may indicate depression or anxiety.
