If you saw our story earlier on the plight of Christian Services food box program, you know they are in need of help. Headed up by Bill and Cookie Prout, Christian Services has grown tremendously over the last 26 years and meets an incredible amount of needs in the Pine Belt area. After the Angel Food Program folded it left a gaping hole in their efforts to feed as many needy people as possible. While the soup kitchen, meals on wheels and compassion van still are getting the job done…there is now a huge need for boxed groceries. This can most efficiently be filled by food wholesalers in the area donating surplus food items to Christian Services. They will come and get anything you are willing to donate to this cause and, certainly the need is there. There is no lack of hungry people in our area during these hard times. By donating food you can't use to those who can you will provide a much needed service. If you are in a position to do so we urge you to call Bill or Cookie at Christian Services and let them know. You will indeed be an answer to prayer and a help to the needy. I'm Jim Cameron. As always, we'd like to hear from you.
