Sumrall recycling facility receives $1.5 million upgrade

SUMRALL, MS (WDAM) -

With the going green movement sweeping the nation, the number of schools, homes, and employers recycling is skyrocketing. To combat this increasing demand, Advanced Disposal Services has provided a $1.5 million upgrade to it's Sumrall Recycling facility.

This upgrade included a new sort line and baler, and has allowed the facility to increase output from 1.5 tons per hour, to 10 tons of material sorted per hour.

The Sumrall Recycling facility already provides recycling services to the City of Hattiesburg, local schools, and Jones County Junior College. With the new upgrades in place, the facility is working towards contracts with the University of Southern Mississippi and with the cities of Laurel and Petal.
