Over the past few months the Jones County Sheriff's Department has received numerous complaints from concerned citizens regarding criminal activity near the intersection of Mason Creek road and Old Palestine Church Road in the Hebron Community. The reported activity has been related to possible illegal drug activity, underage drinking, fighting and traffic violations centering around a suspected illegal night club commonly known in the community as "Dunks." In the past two weeks deputies have responded to multiple disturbances where gunshots were fired.
Sheriff Alex Hodge said at approximately 1:00 a.m. on April 2nd the Jones County Sheriff's Department and agents from the Mississippi Department of Revenue's Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) conducted a visit of the suspected night club. ABC agents confiscated a large quantity of alcohol from the premises. Jones County deputies seized several weapons, a quantity of marijuana and methamphetamine.
23 year old Timothy Hilton was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance while in possession of a Firearm. Several other misdemeanor arrests were made and citations issued. The investigation into illegal activity in the area is ongoing.

The mother of the twins arrested in connection to Monday's triple shooting in Hattiesburg is speaking out. Joyce Dawkins said her sons are being accused of a crime they didn't commit. Four Pine Belt runners trained for 22 weeks for the Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon last weekend with hopes to qualify for the Boston Marathon as a team. A half-court buzzer beater from a sixth-grade girl gave Sacred Heart an exciting win over Laurel Christian on Thursday night.
