Moultrie decides to forgo senior season

STARKVILLE, MS (WDAM) -

Mississippi State's top scorer and rebounder won't be returning for his senior season. Arnett Moultrie decided he will instead pursue a career in the NBA. Moultrie released a written statement saying, "I have decided to explore my options and enter my name in the 2012 NBA draft. I have enjoyed my time at MSU and will never forget the people I met and got to know."

Last season, Moultrie averaged 16.5 points and 10.5 rebounds a game, and received the Howell Award as Mississippi's top collegiate basketball players. Mississippi State finished 21-12, with a 8-8 finish in SEC play before being ousted in the first round of the NIT by the University of Massachusetts.
