Brown, Pierce earn conference hitter, pitcher of the week

Conference USA's hitter and co-pitcher of the week both wear black and gold. The conference announced Blake Brown as the hitter of the week, while teammate Andrew Pierce earned co-pitcher of the week.

Blake, who's earned the honor for the second time this season, finished last week with three home runs, eight RBI and eight runs scored. Teammate Andrew Pierce, in his first ever Friday night start against Houston, struck out a Southern Miss record 15 batters in seven innings. The strike-out total is the most ever for a Southern Miss pitcher in a nine-inning game.

Pierce shares his honor with Matthew Reckling of Rice, who the Golden Eagles will face in Houston in a three-game series starting Friday. First pitch Friday is scheduled for 6:30 pm.
