Laurel Leader Call to close down production after 101 years
LAUREL, MS (WDAM) -
The Laurel Leader-Call announced Monday it will cease publication after the Thursday edition.
According to the newspaper's website, "Publisher Mitchell D. Lynch advised the paper's 18 employees of the decision Monday afternoon. He said subscribers who had paid for the paper in advance would be reimbursed." The paper quoted Lynch as saying, "The paper has been privileged to serve the community for many years."
The Laurel Leader Call was founded in 1911 as the Laurel Daily Argus.
