Turtle Creek Mall to start renovations this month

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Later this month Turtle Creek Mall will undergo a multi-million dollar renovation. According to manager, Bryan LeBlanc, the interior landscape will be updated, the mall will receive energy-efficient lighting, remodeled floors and a new food court layout. LeBlanc says the owner of the mall, CBL & Associates, sees the renderings as an investment.

"They like to change these every 10 to 15 years, because of our economy we kind of pushed ours back a little bit. It's our 18th year this year and it's time to upgrade. It gives us another opportunity to put  our stamp on Hattiesburg. We want to be here forever and this is a part of it," said LeBlanc.

Shoppers will be able to enjoy the enhancements by November, with a "Grand Celebration" event being planned to mark the completion of the project.

Updates on the renovation and celebration will be made on TurtleCreekMall.com.
