Mississippi State ousted from NIT in first round after two over-times

STARKVILLE, MS (WDAM) - Arnett Moultrie scored 34 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Dee Bost scored 20 points and dished out 13 assists, but 22 points would have done the trick. Bost missed a jumper with :06 seconds remaining in regulation, and the bulldogs fell after two over-time periods to the University of Massachusetts 101-96.

Five players scored in double figures for UMass, and two scored over 20. Chaz Williams led the way with 28 for UMass, who led by as many as 11 points twice in the ball game. Down three in the first overtime with :21 seconds remaining, Jalen Steele hit a three pointer from the left wing that knotted things at 90.

UMass out-scored the bulldogs 11-6 in the final overtime period to finally pull away.
