Petal senior a finalist in reality show

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

A Petal senior may soon be a reality tv star.

Monday night, Blake Burt of Petal showed his vocal talents to a crowd of Forrest General Spirit Girls at the Bottling company in downtown Hattiesburg.

Burt is a finalist on a reality show that is still in the works. The name of the network and the show can't be revealed, but Burt's talent of singing could win him a starring role.

Burt is already getting his shot at the lime light. He was an extra in Harrison Ford's new movie "Enders Game", he has a spot on A&E's Breakout Kings and now he has a song with an Atlanta rap artist, Young Nino Da Don called "I Want You."

"Honestly, my dad was on the Internet one night and he called me in the living room and said, 'would you be willing to sing vocals for a rap song?' I was like yeah, sure that would be awesome. Hopefully, everybody likes my voice. That is my goal, I want everyone to enjoy my singing. I hope that through my singing it will put Petal on the map," said Burt.
