Four killed in wreck near Camp Shelby

CAMP SHELBY, MS (WDAM) -

Four people were killed Sunday morning on Hwy 49 North near the North Gate of Camp Shelby. 

The Forrest County Deputy Coroner, Jonathan Nobles, reports that the one-vehicle accident happened just before 6 a.m. when the passengers' Nissan Maxima left the road and hit a tree head-on. 

The driver, Ritha McCullum, 46, as well as Schamus McCullum, Kenneth Laster, 51, and Kia Sims were pronounced dead at the scene. The only survivor, a female, was transported to Forrest General Hospital. 

All were friends and family traveling from the Coast back to their hometown of Bay Springs.
