A Hattiesburg museum has concluded a month-long tribute to Vietnam veterans by hosting a presentation from a Hub City native whose combat experiences were featured in a recent TV documentary.

The African-American Military History Museum welcomed decorated army veteran Charles J. Brown Saturday. He shared his story of combat in Vietnam in 1967 with dozens of visitors.

Brown's story was part of the History Channel series, Vietnam in HD

His presentation was the last in a series of four this month which focused on personal stories of Vietnam veterans.

"Each one of us has a story and throughout the series, there was some compelling, exciting, heart-breaking and honest expressions of the experience in Vietnam or during the Vietnam-era," said Brown.

"This is our first time having this event," said Latoya Norman, museum relations associate for the African-American Military History Museum. "Each Saturday, we had so many members from the community come out and show these veterans so much love. They had so many thoughtful questions for the veterans that did speak," Norman said.

She said next February, the museum will host presentations from veterans of Operation Desert Storm.
