HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - An annual event to benefit the United Way of Southeast Mississippi is 10 years old.
The Home Sweet Home Raffle kicked off Friday morning with a ribbon-cutting. A home valued at $250,000 will be given away to one lucky person for the ticket price of $100.
The home is located in the Vintage Springs subdivision near Presbyterian Christian School.
The winning ticket will be drawn on Apr. 9.
"The tougher the times are for you and me, the tougher they are for people who are in need and the needs are even greater than ever and that $100 ticket is going to go to help somebody right here at home," said Dan Kibodeaux, executive director of the United Way of Southeast Mississippi.
Co-sponsors of this year's raffle are the Greater Hattiesburg Home Builders Association and Leaf River Cellulose.
