It is sad when it is big enough news to draw headlines when a performer doesn't somehow screw-up or denigrate the national anthem at a major sporting event like the Super Bowl. It is equally appalling when parents are unsure about allowing their children to watch the half-time show because inappropriate actions by professional entertainers has gotten so common place. Once again the NFL finds itself apologizing for the obscene gesture and words used by an entertainer called M.I.A. during an otherwise tame Madonna halftime show. Frankly, I think it is time that the NFL…who is responsible for the halftime and pregame shows…give the heave ho to controversial professional entertainers. They should select some of the best collegiate marching bands, military bands and vocalists or talented amateurs for the honor of performing during the biggest television viewing event of the year. They would probably put on a better performance and none would be so arrogant as to interject vulgar or controversial material into the performance. Let's give the Super Bowl back to the families of the nation and ensure no one will be embarrassed while watching with their children. I'm Jim Cameron and I'd like to hear from you.
