CAMP SHELBY, MS (WDAM) -

A Forrest County woman accused of shooting her husband at Camp Shelby last week while he was on duty made her first appearance in court Wednesday morning. Tiffany Wright, 30, who faces one count of domestic aggravated assault, appeared before Justice Court Judge Pat Causey.

He set her bond at $50,000.

Wright allegedly shot her husband, Britain Wright, once in the chest at the post last Friday, while he was on duty as a military policeman. The bullet struck his ballistic vest, saving his life.

At first, he told police he was shot by a man in a truck, but later acknowledged it was his wife who committed the crime.

He will likely face misdemeanor charges from the county for the cover-up and could face more charges from the army.
