Laurel city trying to regulate transient vendors

LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - The city of Laurel is one step closer to restricting where transient vendors set up within city limits.

Laurel Chief Administrative Officer Dennis Keveryn says transient vendors are taking money away from local businesses and hurting the city's sales tax dollars.

He says the city can't prohibit transient vendors from coming into town, but the city hopes to prevent them from setting up on or near major intersections leading into the city.
