Two injured from probable tornado in Marion County

MARION COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

Marion county emergency management reports that two people were injured from a probable tornado in the southern part of the county Tuesday.

The reported touchdown occurred just after 4:00pm, destroying a mobile home, heavily damaging a house, and knocking down numerous trees and power lines. Officials have two reports of injuries, one of which was a pregnant woman that was in her mobile home when the tornado tossed into the nearby woods.  It's believed that she may have a broken arm.

The majority of the damage happened a few miles east of the Sandy Hook community along Mail Route Road and Clear Creek Church Road.
