Columbia student struck by car getting off the school bus

A 13-year-old Columbia student was struck by a car Tuesday afternoon while attempting to cross the street after getting off a school bus. Police Chief, Jim Kinslow, says the 7th grader was taken to Marion General Hospital for x-rays. His injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

Kinslow said the driver of the car, Jasper Mckinney, 21, was arrested at the scene. Authorities say Mckinney already had outstanding warrants for grand larceny. He now faces additional felony charges under "Nathan's Law."
