SLIDESHOW: Sumrall area cemetery vandalized

LAMAR COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

Visitors to the Russell Cemetery in Lamar County discovered widespread vandalism on Saturday.

Several graves were disturbed and their headstones shattered. Some graves had their flower arrangements and other objects destroyed or scattered at the cemetery located on Russell Cemetery Road off of Rocky Branch Road near the city of Sumrall.

The remnants of a fire along with cigarette butts and beer cans were also found at the graveyard.

Authorities were notified.

    The new Miss Hospitality has been crowned in Hattiesburg.  She is Emma Grace McGrew, 18, of Booneville.
