CAMP SHELBY, MS (WDAM) - 2012 is going to be a busy year for the management, staff and volunteers at the Armed Forces Museum at Camp Shelby. They'll be spending much of this year working on a major new exhibit concerning the global war on terrorism.
Plans are also underway for a special commemoration of the Korean War.
And events are being scheduled to mark the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812.
"We'll have some programming in the year about that commemoration, which is important for Mississippi's history, as it's the first conflict Mississippi participates in as a territory," said Chad Daniels, museum director.
And this spring, Daniels say he'll begin recruiting a few volunteers to help with conservation efforts at the museum's new support facility.
