Hattiesburg company recognized by Popular Science Magazine

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - For a farmer having a healthy, fast growing and climate sustainable crop sounds like a dream, but according to local researchers there is a product that is making that dream a reality and its made right here in South Mississippi.

Its called SumaGrow, and it is manufactured at Bio Soil Enhancers in Hattiesburg.

According to researchers, microbiologists turn microbes into a liquid which can produce higher yields of crops, increase nutrient values, eliminate fertilizer dependence, reduce watering needs, and improve the environment.

Microbiologist, Dr. Lalithakumari Janarthanam says SumaGrow will help in the future with the growing population by first taking care of what both animals and humans eat.

SumaGrow was named 2011 "Best of What's New" product by Popular Science Magazine.
