New Miss. adjutant general opens new credit union at Camp Shelby

CAMP SHELBY, MS (WDAM) -

Mississippi's new adjutant general was among the dignitaries on hand to help open the new Camp Shelby Federal Credit Union Thursday afternoon.

Brig. Gen. Augustus L. Collins cut a ribbon to officially open the facility.

Collins is the state's first African-American adjutant general. He was appointed by Gov. Phil Bryant Wednesday.

The Camp Shelby Federal Credit Union opened with a single $5 deposit in 1967. It now has assets of about $16 million.
