Bertha Nobles celebrates 100 years Bertha Nobles celebrates 100 years
HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Family and friends gathered at the Wesley Manor Retirement Community to wish a Happy 100th Birthday to Bertha "Bert" Nobles Friday afternoon.

She was born Jan. 6, 1912 in Lamar County and has lived her entire life in the Hattiesburg area. She was married to Spike Nobles for 50 years before he passed away in 1985. Bert was a housewife all her life and she husband raised two daughters. Daughter Sherry Winstead says her mother is in great health for her age and one of the keys to her making it to 100 is her love for the game of bridge.

"Mother has enjoyed a very full life," said Winstead. "She loves to play bridge. She exercises and eats right. There are maybe a few other details I shouldn't contribute to her longevity, but she's remarkable."

Bert also has five grandchildren.
