Highway patrol officer injured in Jones County car accident

A Mississippi Highway Patrol officer was injured Thursday in a two-vehicle accident on Hwy 84 east at the Magnolia Road intersection.

At around 12:30 p.m., while the officer was traveling east, a vehicle pulled out of Magnolia Road and struck the patrol car.

The officer complained of chest pains at the scene and was taken to a local hospital. The other driver was also injured and taken to a local hospital
