Bustle, West set to join Southern Miss coaching staff, Buckley expected

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM)- Ricky Bustle, quarterbacks coach with the University of Tulane in 2011, is set to join Ellis Johnson and the University of Southern Mississippi football team as an offensive coordinator.

Prior to his stint with Tulane, Bustle served as the head coach for Louisiana Lafayette from 2002 to 2010.

Reports also say that Tommy West, former head coach for the University of Memphis, will join Johnson as an assistant head coach. West accumulated 49 wins with 61 losses during his stint with the Tigers, and most recently served as defensive coordinator for the University of Alabama-Birmingham.

West's head coaching experience also spans back to his days in the Atlantic Coast Conference, where he lead the University of Clemson to a 31-28 record and four Peach Bowl appearances over six seasons.

Additionally, Petal head coach Steven Buckley is expected to be named running backs coach sometime later in the week. More hires are also expected after Johnson returns to Hattiesburg on Wednesday.
