It was Christmas at the African American Military History Museum Thursday.
During the 3rd Annual Christmas Open House, residents of Hattiesburg had the opportunity to stop by the museum and enjoy Christmas carolers, food and good company.
Organizers say, having events like this lets the community know they are welcome and facilities like the museum is always open to them. It seems the message was well received by a World War ll Veteran.
"They did a good job decorating it. I had an occasion to go back and look in the back, and its just a nice thing to have. I think the service men in the community should come by and look that somebody took the time out to make the arrangements to have a nice place to come for a change," said World War II Veteran, Norman Jones.
