HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

It's the busiest time of year for the Salvation Army, and the Hattiesburg branch is no different.

The big push right now is for the angel tree. The Hattiesburg tree still has 250 angels that need to be adopted by eight tomorrow night.  You can stop by Turtle Creek Mall to pick up an angel, and gifts for angels should be dropped off by tomorrow night as well. But if you do not have a chance to get an angel, you can still pick up any toys or gifts and drop them by the Salvation Army before December 19. Those will go into bundles for the angels that were not adopted this year.

They are also collecting canned goods and unopened packaged food to put into food boxes for families that need a little help putting together a holiday dinner this year.

And, with the temperatures dropping, the Salvation Army on U.S. Highway 49 is Hattiesburg has opened it's shelter. On cold nights, the doors will open at 5 and they offer dinner and breakfast.
