HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM)
Students at Hattiesburg High School are helping younger students learn about polymer science.
Friday morning, students in Polymer I and Polymer II classes at Hattiesburg High hosted hands-on demonstrations of concepts in polymer science at the school's polymer science lab.
They taught 7th grade students from N.R. Burger Middle School.
"I like the way they show us the projects and how we use them and then, they'll let us do it and they'll show us that we can do it when we get older," said Jagracie Watts, a 7th grade student.
"I enjoy teaching some of the younger students the material, so that they can get an interest for it and also, it helps them to enroll in it, because I feel this is a good subject," said Jyron Vickers, a senior at Hattiesburg High School.
Hattiesburg High has been offering elective classes in polymer science for four years.
