A Prentiss High School teacher has been placed on administrative leave after allegedly having sex with one of her students.
Jefferson Davis County School Superintendent, Ike Haynes would not identify the teacher nor the student but says an internal investigation is currently under way about an alleged sexual assault.
Haynes says investigating these allegations is the top priority and that every students safety in Jefferson Davis County is of importance.
Haynes says every teacher signed a code of ethics contract and he will hold each of them to it.
The teacher was placed on leave earlier this week, the student is still currently attending Prentiss High.
Haynes says he has also placed the principal on administrative leave with pay but says he can't say why because it is a personnel matter.
