HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Hardy Street Baptist Church is requesting the permanent road closing of south 16th Avenue between Hardy Street and Concart Street.

They have made this proposal several times in past years as an increased safety measure for members and students crossing South 16th Avenue.

City of Harrisburg traffic officials and Councilman Ware will be on hand to answer any questions during a Dec. 1 meeting at 6 p.m. located at the Neal House, 1311 Hardy Street.

Following a school-record 55 wins and run that ended in an 8-7 loss in the NJCAA national championship, Jones County Junior College softball is eager to open the 2018 season on February 3. Coming that close to the school’s first national title serves as motivation enough for the Lady Bobcats. Regardless, expectations are always high for coach Chris Robinson’s teams – JCJC is a combined 105-12 the last two seasons.
