HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The Shriners of Chenzira Temple Number 235 of Hattiesburg were out Friday ringing bells for the Salvation Army's Kettle Campaign.

While taking donations they were also conducting their own non-perishable food drive and a toy drive, also in support of the Salvation Army. The motto for the organization is "Shriner's Helping Children". They have partnered with the Salvation Army on many occasions to help ensure the needs of the less fortunate are met.

"We feel it is necessary because we have been so blessed. We've been given a lot in our lives, so we want to return it back," said Jeremy Ewing, Chenzira Temple No. 235. "That's part of our obligation and our labors."

The food and toy drive for the Salvation Army will continue over the next two weeks.
