Highway 11 accident sends one to hospital

EASTABUCHIE, MS (WDAM) -

One motorist was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 11 at the Jones-Forrest County line Tuesday afternoon.

The wreck, involving a transport truck and a pick-up, happened after 2 p.m. near Mak's convenience store.

A volunteer with a local fire dept. said the female driver of the pick-up was seriously injured and was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

He said the driver of the transport truck was not hurt.

    Following a school-record 55 wins and run that ended in an 8-7 loss in the NJCAA national championship, Jones County Junior College softball is eager to open the 2018 season on February 3. Coming that close to the school’s first national title serves as motivation enough for the Lady Bobcats. Regardless, expectations are always high for coach Chris Robinson’s teams – JCJC is a combined 105-12 the last two seasons.
