Wayne County Coroner David Pugh says the dead body found along Highway 63 in Waynesboro Monday morning has been identified as that of 51-year-old Brenda Nobles.

Pugh says the autopsy revealed no trauma to the body. Cause of death will be determined by the toxicology report.

Nobles body was found at around 7:30 a.m. Monday in a culvert along the side of the road. She had been missing for about three weeks. Her boyfriend said she had last been seen October 28 at around 9 p.m. walking along Highway 63 in the vicinity of where her body was found.

Waynesboro officers were called to the scene after two city workers spotted the body near Willowbrook Drive. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and its Crime Lab were also called in to investigate

Pugh said the body was in a moderate stage of decomposition and appeared to have been there for several days.
