Jones County residents pick up the pieces after EF-2 tornado

JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - This was clean-up day for tornado victims in the Shady Grove area in north Jones County.

Residents were cutting down trees, boarding up homes, and moving debris. Red Cross officials traveled door to door tabulating the damage.

Emergency Management Director Don Mckinnon advises storm victims to beware of some shady contractors who might try to take advantage of the situation.

He said if someone offers you a deal that sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
