Laurel considers upgrading Sportsplex before the World Series
LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - The Laurel City Council is being asked to apply for a 10 year- $300,000 loan in order to build a new concession stand at the Laurel Sportsplex.
Mayor Mack's administration is asking the council to apply for a CAP loan to construct a press box, concession stand, and hospitality umpires room for the upcoming 2013 world-series.
The City Chief Administrative Officer Dennis Keveryn said it is a low interest loan that will not cost tax payers any additional money. He said the city has money in reserve, and building another concession stand is a good investment of the city.
