Phil Bryant bus tour stops in Hattiesburg

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Get-Out-the-Vote... that was the message Friday at the Lamar/Forrest county Republican headquarters. Republicans were out in full force to encourage both the young and old to cast their ballots November 8th. Republican gubernatorial nominee Phil Bryant was accompanied by Governor Haley Barbour and other statewide Republican candidates. Along with three controversial initiatives on the ballot, Mississippians will have to choose between Republican Phil Bryant and Hattiesburg's own Johnny DuPree.

Phil Bryant stressed that the election was not over. He urged Republicans, Independents, and Conservative Democrats to come out and vote for his campaign.

Based off past election statistics, voter turnout for Democrats has been low. Despite being a Republican, Governor Barbour claims that he would like to see a higher voter turnout among both parties. He believes a big turnout is not only good for Republicans, but for whoever wins.
