Petal hosts 1st "Fall Festival"

PETAL, MS (WDAM) - The City of Petal and many local sponsors offered a special Halloween present to the community Saturday that was full of treats without the tricks. The first Petal Fall Festival at Relay Park focused on plenty of family fun, with games for kids and arts and crafts for mom and dad.

It also featured art and antique car shows. In addition, there were more than a dozen food vendors available with lots of menu items to please the palate.

City officials say they hope the event will become an autumn tradition for visitors.

"While they're over here enjoying our park, they may decide to take a drive around town, see what we have to offer, maybe want to come back and shop on other days," said Hal Marx, mayor of Petal. "It's a chance for our local vendors to come out and reach people who normally don't come shop in petal," Marx said.
