MCCOMB, MS - WWL-TV is reporting that Kaunda Magee has been captured after two weeks on the run, according to reports. Deputies shot him in Mississippi Wednesday afternoon.
Magee was taken to a hospital in McComb, MS. His condition is unknown.
He was captured of Osyka Progress Road, near Osyka, Miss.
Magee had been wanted on charges of kidnapping, rape, four counts of attempted murder of a police officer, as well as other charges.
The hunt for Magee started two weeks ago in Washington Parish and eventually expanded into southern Mississippi after a stolen SUV was found.
Magee, 36, allegedly stole the car Tuesday morning and traded shots with deputies. No one is believed to be hit from that exchange.
One person was killed and four others were injured in a three-vehicle accident on Interstate-59 near Purvis late Friday night.More >>
