Nationally renowned gardener brings the Hamptons to Hattiesburg

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A nationally renowned gardener brought the beauty of the Hamptons to Hattiesburg Tuesday morning.

Mississippi native, John Jack deLashmet spoke at the Spirit of Women event at the Lake Terrace Convention Center.

deLashmet is a landscape architect who has created notable landscape projects and historic garden restorations throughout the United States and Europe.

deLashmet presented an exciting program on adapting the style of the Hamptons for local gardens. He says he wanted to leave his audience with an important message.

 "Well, I believe that the power of women is pretty strong. I believe that women have the power to really save the world, and to make sure that we are aware of caring for mother earth," said deLashmet.
