35 arrested in Forrest County gambling raid

FORREST COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - The Forrest County Sheriff's Department arrested 35 people Sunday morning in a gambling raid.

The raid took place at 11 a.m. on Glendale Avenue in the center of Hattiesburg. Forrest County Deputies had been investigating the gambling operation after receiving complaints from several of the neighbors.

The gambling was apparently tied to betting on NFL football games. An undisclosed amount of money was seized.

All arrested face misdemeanor gambling charges.
