Sex abstinence promoted at Sumrall Middle School

SUMRALL, MS (WDAM) - Aim for Success, Inc., presented their nationally acclaimed Freedom to Succeed program to 7th and 8th grade students at Sumrall Middle School Wednesday afternoon.

The Junior Auxiliary of Hattiesburg hosted the presentation. Aim for Success motivational programs have educated over two million teens, parents, and educators across America during the past 18 years on topics such as sex, drugs, and alcohol. Today's program focused on sexual abstinence and how by making good choices students can have the freedom to succeed in their future endeavors.

Ben Smith, Program Director with Aim for Success, says the goal of the program is for students to understand how choosing abstinence can give them freedom. Not only from teenage pregnancy and STD's, but from some of the consequences they could face when it comes to the law.

The Freedom to Succeed program also stopped at Petal Middle School Wednesday morning, and will continue at Presbyterian Christian High School and Oak Grove Middle School Thursday.
