M-DOT holds Construction Career Fair for high school students
HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The Mississippi Department of Transportation is holding Construction Career Fairs throughout the state during September and October.
Wednesday they were at the Warren Paving Asphalt Plant in Hattiesburg. High school students from around South Mississippi had an opportunity to experience different aspects of the construction field. Construction equipment of all kinds were on display with representatives from M-DOT on hand to explain the purpose of the machinery and the proper way to operate it.
The goal of the career fair is to educate the students about the many opportunities available to them in the industry.
Sponsors teaming up with M-DOT to make the career fair a success was the Federal Highway Administration, the Mississippi Department of Education, the Road Builders Association, and the Mississippi Asphalt Association.
