HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - More than 350 area high school students were introduced to the Allied Health Programs at the Forrest County Campus of Pearl River Community College Wednesday.
The event is held each year for high schoolers enrolled in Allied Health Programs in their own schools. The experience is a way for them to possibly finalize a major and learn the prerequisites there may be for the program they want to enter.
The students were given demonstrations by PRCC students and participated in some hands on activities.
"Our students enjoy doing this. It allows them to visit with students that they went to high school with," Said Doctor Cecil Burt, VP for Forrest County Operations. "Plus it gives them some communication skills. It's a great opportunity for them."
The students that attended came from more than ten different schools in a six county area.
